Bellevue Lists Among Most Livable US Cities

The Eastside has long been one of my favorite neighborhoods, and it seems like the rest of the nation is beginning to agree! Livability.com recently conducted a study to determine which mid-sized American cities were the best to live in and Bellevue, WA rang in at number 6! The research they used was based on data from more than 2,000 cities with populations between 20,000 and 350,000. Some of the factors they took into consideration were affordability, housing, amenities, recreation, education and healthcare, among others.

I have my own reasons for admiring and loving Bellevue. Livability cited the “small town vibe, its excellent public school system, a health care system that ranks high, and its thriving shopping and commercial districts,” according to Puget Sound Business Journal. This is not the first time Bellevue has taken its rightful place on a “best of” list. The borough also came in at number 21 on Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of top 25 small and mid-sized cities for entrepreneurs, and it also came in at number 4 on Niche’s list of Seattle Area’s best suburbs for millennials. Entrepreneur Magazine cited “tons of amenities while maintaining a small-town feel. It ranks top 10 in the country in small business loans, creative class workers and culture while still offering affordable transportation and easy access to broadband.”

If you have been considering making the move to the Eastside, now may be the time to take that leap!  Growing up in the Pacific Northwest and having spent significant time in Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland, I can say with confidence the Eastside is an incredible place to call home.
